Synopsis – What to Expect from “Major League”
Major League is a 1989 American sports comedy film that follows the misfit Cleveland Indians baseball team as they attempt to make it to the major leagues.
The story follows the newly appointed manager of the Cleveland Indians, former showboat catcher, Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger). Jake is determined to turn the Indians into a winning team, and with the help of his ragtag group of players, he sets out to do just that.
The team consists of the aging pitcher, Eddie Harris (Chelcie Ross), the wild and unpredictable relief pitcher, Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn (Charlie Sheen), the cocky and talented outfielder, Willie Mays Hayes (Wesley Snipes), the hard-hitting catcher, Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert), and the brash and talented shortstop, Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen).
The team starts off the season with a bang, winning game after game and quickly becoming the talk of the town. However, as the season progresses, the Indians start to struggle, and Jake must find a way to get the team back on track.
The team must overcome their differences and learn to work together if they want to make it to the playoffs and make their dreams of playing in the major leagues come true.
