Synopsis – What to Expect from “Major League II”
Major League II is a 1994 American sports comedy film and the sequel to the 1989 film Major League. The film stars Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Corbin Bernsen, and Dennis Haysbert, all reprising their roles from the first film.
The film follows the continued misadventures of the Cleveland Indians, a rag-tag group of players who have managed to make it to the Major Leagues. With the team’s success, the Indians are now the target of a hostile corporate takeover by Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton), the new owner of the team. Phelps wants to move the team to Miami and has hired a new manager, Lou Brown (James Gammon), to make sure the team fails.
The team, however, has other plans. With the help of their manager, the Indians are determined to make it to the playoffs and prove that they can succeed without the help of their new owner. As the team works together to make it to the playoffs, they must also deal with the antics of their new manager, as well as the constant interference of their new owner.
The team also has to contend with the return of their former star player, Willie Mays Hayes (Wesley Snipes). Hayes left the team after a falling out with the manager and now wants to prove that he still has what it takes to be a major leaguer.
