Synopsis/Plot
Mad World is a 2019 Chinese drama film written and directed by Wong Chun. Set in contemporary Hong Kong, the film follows the lives of three individuals who are struggling to cope with the pressures of modern life.
The first character is Fai (Shawn Yue), an ambitious and hardworking investment banker. He is driven by the desire to make money and is willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead. However, his work is taking a toll on his mental health, and he is beginning to feel the strain of his high-pressure job.
The second character is Siu-man (Eric Tsang), an elderly man who is struggling to make ends meet. He works at a local convenience store and is constantly fighting to keep his job. He is also dealing with his failing health, and his inability to make enough money to support himself.
The third character is Ah Ying (Sandra Ng), a single mother who is struggling to raise her son. She works as a cleaner, and despite her best efforts, she is unable to provide her son with the life he deserves.
