Synopsis/Plot
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is a 1985 Australian post-apocalyptic action-adventure film directed by George Miller and George Ogilvie, starring Mel Gibson and Tina Turner. Set in the post-apocalyptic future, the film follows Max Rockatansky (Gibson) as he is exiled into the desert wasteland of Bartertown, where he is forced to fight for survival against the ruthless ruler, Aunty Entity (Turner).
The film begins with Max wandering the post-apocalyptic Australian Outback, searching for a new home. He is soon captured and brought to Bartertown, a lawless city run by the ruthless Aunty Entity, who forces Max to fight in a gladiatorial arena known as the Thunderdome. Max is pitted against a giant named Blaster, and the two fight to the death in a battle that Max ultimately wins.
Max is then forced to flee Bartertown and escape into the desert wastelands, where he discovers a group of children who have been living in an abandoned oil refinery for years. The children are led by a young girl named Savannah Nix, and Max soon learns of their incredible story.
