Synopsis/Plot
Macbeth is a dark and powerful tragedy based on William Shakespeare’s classic play of the same name. Set in Scotland in the 11th Century, the story follows Macbeth, a brave and ambitious warrior who is driven by ambition and a prophecy from three witches to seize the throne of Scotland. After murdering the King, Macbeth and his wife, Lady Macbeth, become the rulers of Scotland. However, their rule is marked by paranoia and violence as Macbeth struggles to maintain his power.
The film follows Macbeth’s descent into a world of darkness and violence as he is consumed by his ambition. His ambition is further fuelled by Lady Macbeth, who encourages him to do whatever it takes to keep the throne. As Macbeth’s rule continues, he becomes increasingly paranoid and desperate to maintain his power. His actions become increasingly ruthless and he begins to lose the loyalty of his people.
The film features a talented cast, including Michael Fassbender as Macbeth, Marion Cotillard as Lady Macbeth, and Paddy Considine as Macduff. The production also features stunning cinematography and a captivating score composed by Jed Kurzel.
