Synopsis – What to Expect from “Luce”
Luce is a psychological thriller that follows the story of Luce Edgar, an all-star high school student who appears to have it all. Luce is an adopted African-American teen who is well-liked by his teachers and peers. He is a model student and is well-respected by his teachers.
However, his teacher, Harriet Wilson, discovers an essay that Luce wrote for an assignment that is filled with disturbing and violent imagery. She is concerned and decides to look into Luce’s past. She discovers that Luce was once a child soldier in his native country of Eritrea and he has kept this information hidden from his adoptive parents.
Harriet decides to confront Luce about his past and the essay. She believes that his past is influencing his behavior and that he needs help. However, Luce is adamant that his past has nothing to do with his current behavior and refuses to talk about it.
Meanwhile, Luce’s adoptive parents, Peter and Stephanie, are struggling to understand why their son has changed recently. They are also concerned about his relationship with his girlfriend, a fellow student named Zoey.
As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that Luce is not as perfect as he seems. He is struggling with his past and is trying to find a way to reconcile it with his present. He must find a way to come to terms with his past if he is to have any chance of
