Synopsis – What to Expect from “Loverboy”
Loverboy is a 1989 romantic comedy about 21-year-old Randy Bodek, a pizza delivery boy who is trying to make it through college. Randy is a bit of a ladies’ man and has a reputation for being a bit of a slacker. When he meets the beautiful and wealthy Debbie Thompson, he falls head over heels in love with her.
When Debbie’s father, the wealthy and powerful businessman Mr. Thompson, finds out about Randy, he is less than pleased. He does not approve of the relationship and does everything he can to break them up. Undeterred, Randy and Debbie try to make their relationship work, despite Mr. Thompson’s interference.
Randy soon finds out that Mr. Thompson is involved in some shady business dealings and is determined to expose him. He teams up with his friend Mike, who works for the FBI, and together they set out to bring Mr. Thompson to justice.
Meanwhile, Randy and Debbie’s relationship is tested when Mr. Thompson’s interference becomes more and more extreme. Will their love survive or will Mr. Thompson succeed in tearing them apart?
