Synopsis – What to Expect from “Love and Other Disasters”
Love and Other Disasters is a romantic comedy set in London and directed by Alek Keshishian. It follows the lives of four friends: Jack (Matthew Rhys), a magazine editor; Peter (Bruno Lastra), a photographer; Bridget (Sally Phillips), an art director; and Mia (Frances O’Connor), a fashion assistant.
The story begins with Jack and Peter’s bromance, as they share a flat and go out together to parties and clubs. Jack is a bit of a commitment-phobe, but Peter is more interested in finding true love. At one of their nights out, they meet Bridget and Mia, two beautiful and sophisticated women. Mia is a bit of a wild child, while Bridget is more reserved and focused on her career.
The four quickly become friends and start to hang out together. Jack and Peter find themselves drawn to the two girls, and a love triangle soon develops between the four of them. As the story progresses, the friends must learn to navigate their feelings for each other and the complications of modern romance.
Meanwhile, Jack is struggling with his own inner demons and a difficult relationship with his father, and Peter is trying to find his place in the world. As they all try to find love and their place in the world, the four friends must learn to trust and rely on each other.
In the end, the four friends must learn to let go
