Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s “Island of Dr. Moreau” is a documentary film released in 2014 that tells the story of a movie adaptation of the classic H.G. Wells novel, The Island of Dr. Moreau. The film follows the journey of director Richard Stanley, who was hired to direct the 1996 adaptation of the novel, and the difficulties he faced in getting the movie made.
