Synopsis – What to Expect from “Lost River”
Lost River is a unique and visually stunning neo-noir fantasy film about a single mother, Billy (Christina Hendricks), who is struggling to keep her family afloat in a dilapidated city. She takes a job at a local bank, where she discovers a dark secret. In order to save her family, she must make a daring move and venture into the mysterious and dangerous underworld of Lost River.
Billy’s teenage son Bones (Iain De Caestecker) is a creative and resourceful young man who is determined to find a way to save his family. He discovers a hidden, underwater city called Lost River, which is populated by a strange and dangerous group of people. Bones is determined to explore the city and unlock its secrets in order to save his family.
Meanwhile, Billy’s neighbor Rat (Saoirse Ronan) is a mysterious and dangerous young woman who is determined to find a way to escape the city. She is also searching for the secrets of Lost River and is willing to do whatever it takes to get out.
The film follows Billy, Bones, and Rat as they explore the secrets of Lost River. Along the way, they must face off against the city’s dangerous inhabitants, including the ruthless Bully (Matt Smith) and the mysterious Bones’ Mother (Eva Mendes). As they uncover the secrets of the city, they must also confront their own inner demons and face the consequences of their choices.
