Synopsis – What to Expect from “Lord of the Flies”
Lord of the Flies is a classic British drama released in 1963. It tells the story of a group of British boys stranded on an uninhabited island during a war.
The boys, aged between six and twelve, are the sole survivors of a plane crash and soon find themselves in a situation where they must fend for themselves and create their own society. Initially, the boys set up a rudimentary form of democracy, but as time passes, the boys become increasingly divided.
Jack, one of the oldest boys, takes control of the group and leads them on a hunt for wild pigs. Soon, the boys become obsessed with hunting and become increasingly savage. As the boys become more violent, they begin to worship a pig head they call the “Lord of the Flies”.
The group is further divided when two of the boys, Ralph and Piggy, try to restore order and democracy. They are opposed by Jack and his followers, who want to keep the “Lord of the Flies” as their leader.
The boys’ struggle for power and control eventually leads to a violent confrontation between the two sides. In the end, the boys are rescued by a naval officer, who is shocked by the violence he finds on the island.
