Junn is a widow who is struggling to cope with the death of her son, and Kai is a young man who is struggling to find his place in the world.
Kai meets Junn at a nursing home, where she is being cared for. Despite their language barrier, the two form a bond as Kai helps Junn to cope with her grief. As the two grow closer, Kai discovers that Junn’s son had been living in England and had a British girlfriend, Richard (Ben Whishaw).
