Synopsis – What to Expect from “Lansky”
Lansky is a biographical drama film about the life of infamous mobster Meyer Lansky. The film follows Meyer Lansky’s life from his humble beginnings in the Jewish ghettos of Poland to his rise to power as one of the most powerful and influential organized crime figures in American history.
The film begins with a young Meyer Lansky living in poverty in the Jewish ghettos of Poland. He and his family are struggling to survive and Lansky soon finds himself drawn to the criminal underworld as a way to make money. He quickly rises to the top of the criminal underworld, becoming one of the most powerful and influential organized crime figures in the United States.
Lansky’s success comes with a price, however, and he soon finds himself caught in the crosshairs of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. He is forced to flee the country and take refuge in Israel to avoid prosecution. While in Israel, Lansky is able to continue his criminal activities, but his past catches up with him and he is ultimately extradited back to the United States to face trial.
The film follows Lansky’s trial and his ultimate conviction, as well as his later years in prison. Despite his conviction, Lansky still manages to maintain his power and influence in the underworld, even from behind bars. The film ends with Lansky’s death in 1983, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
