Synopsis – What to Expect from “Lakeview Terrace”
Lakeview Terrace is a 2008 psychological thriller directed by Neil LaBute and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Wilson, and Kerry Washington.
The movie begins with LAPD officer Abel Turner (Jackson) moving into the Lakeview Terrace neighborhood with his wife Lisa (Washington) and their son Chris (Jaishon Fisher). Abel is a strict disciplinarian and is quick to judge his neighbors, particularly the newlywed interracial couple, Chris and Lisa Mattson (Wilson and Kerry Washington).
Abel begins to harass the Mattsons, making it very difficult for them to live in peace. He even goes so far as to threaten them with violence.
The Mattsons eventually decide to fight back, and they enlist the help of their lawyer, Lisa’s father (Ron Glass). They file a restraining order against Abel, but Abel refuses to back down. He continues to terrorize the Mattsons, escalating the situation until it reaches a boiling point.
The movie culminates in a dramatic showdown between Abel and Chris. In the end, Abel is arrested and the Mattsons are able to live in peace.
