Synopsis/Plot
Lady in the Water is a 2006 fantasy drama film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The film follows Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti), a lonely apartment complex superintendent who discovers a young woman named Story (Bryce Dallas Howard) in the swimming pool. Cleveland soon discovers that Story is a narf, a creature from a distant world who has come to our world to deliver a message to humanity.
Cleveland and the tenants of the apartment complex must join forces to protect Story from the scrunt, a vicious creature sent to hunt her down. As the story progresses, Cleveland discovers the true nature of Story’s mission and the importance of her message. He also learns about the mysterious and powerful creatures from the Blue World, and the role they play in the fate of humanity.
