Synopsis – What to Expect from “LA Originals”
LA Originals is a documentary film that explores the culture and history of the Chicano street art movement in Los Angeles. It follows the lives of two of the city’s most influential street artists, Estevan Oriol and Mister Cartoon, as they navigate the complexities of their art form and its place in the city’s history.
The film begins with a look at the history of street art in Los Angeles, from its roots in the Chicano culture of the 1970s to its rise in the early 2000s. We are then introduced to Estevan Oriol and Mister Cartoon, two of the city’s most influential street artists, and follow them as they go about their lives and art.
