Synopsis/Plot

Knives Out is a 2019 mystery-thriller film written and directed by Rian Johnson. The film follows the story of renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) and his family, who are all suspects in his mysterious death. After the police rule his death a suicide, private detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is hired to investigate the case.

The Thrombey family is a wealthy and eccentric group who have gathered for Harlan’s 85th birthday celebration. His daughter Linda (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her husband Richard (Don Johnson) are the first to arrive, followed by Walter (Michael Shannon), Harlan’s son-in-law. Harlan’s son, Ransom (Chris Evans), is the last to arrive and quickly becomes the prime suspect in his father’s death. The investigation reveals secrets and lies that the family has kept hidden for years. As the mystery deepens, the truth behind Harlan’s death is slowly uncovered.

The film features an all-star cast, including Toni Collette, Ana de Armas, Lakeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell, and Christopher Plummer.
