Synopsis – What to Expect from “Knick Knack”
Knick Knack is a 1989 animated short film directed by Pixar’s John Lasseter. The film follows a snowman living in a snow globe who desperately wants to escape to the real world.
The snowman, named Knick, is stuck in his snow globe in a souvenir shop on a beach. He watches the people outside the globe with envy and dreams of joining them. He tries several times to escape, but is foiled by the glass walls of the globe.
Meanwhile, a sunbathing woman on the beach notices Knick and decides to buy the snow globe as a souvenir. As she leaves with the globe, Knick desperately attempts to escape one last time. This time, he is successful and manages to escape the globe.
Knick lands on the beach and finds himself surrounded by people who are much larger than him. He is initially scared, but soon discovers that the people are friendly and welcoming. He befriends a beach ball and the two of them explore the beach and have fun.
Knick eventually finds his way back to the souvenir shop and reunites with the snow globe. He realizes that he is happy to be back in his snow globe, but still dreams of visiting the real world again someday.
