Synopsis – What to Expect from “Killing Them Softly”
Killing Them Softly is a crime drama set in New Orleans, Louisiana, and follows three small-time crooks who rob a mob-protected card game. The heist goes wrong, and the trio find themselves in deep trouble with the mob.
The story revolves around Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt), an enforcer hired by the mob to track down the thieves and restore order. As Jackie investigates the crime, he discovers that the robbery was part of a larger plot orchestrated by a rival mob boss.
Jackie is a professional and dispassionate hitman who prefers to “kill them softly,” meaning he prefers to kill his victims quickly and without making a show of it. However, as he begins to unravel the truth behind the robbery, Jackie finds himself in a moral quandary.
He must decide whether to accept the mob’s orders and kill the thieves, or to defy the mob and take a stand against the injustice of their criminal activities. As Jackie struggles with his conscience, he is also pursued by a rival hitman, Markie Trattman (Ray Liotta), who is determined to take him out.
The story culminates in a violent showdown between Jackie and Markie, as well as the mob and the thieves. In the end, Jackie must decide whether to take the law into his own hands and risk his own life in order to do what’s right. Killing Them Softly is a thrilling, action
