Synopsis – What to Expect from “Kazaam”
Kazaam is a 1996 American fantasy-comedy film starring Shaquille O’Neal as the title character, a 5,000-year-old genie.
The movie follows 12-year-old Max (Francis Capra), a troubled and lonely boy living with his single mother in a rough neighborhood in New York City. After being bullied by a local gang, Max discovers a magical boombox in an abandoned building which brings to life Kazaam, a 5,000-year-old genie. Kazaam grants Max three wishes, and in exchange, Max must help Kazaam find the missing pieces of a magical scepter that will allow Kazaam to return to his home in the clouds.
Max and Kazaam embark on a wild adventure to find the missing pieces of the scepter. Along the way, they battle a dangerous gang leader, befriend a young graffiti artist, and confront Max’s neglectful father. In the end, Max and Kazaam manage to find the scepter and Kazaam is able to return home. In the process, Max learns valuable lessons about friendship, loyalty, and the importance of family.
