Synopsis/Plot
Kandahar is a 2001 drama film directed by Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf. It tells the story of an Afghani woman’s journey to the city of Kandahar in an attempt to find her sister, who has been left behind in the war-torn country.
The film follows Nafas, an Afghani woman living in Canada, as she embarks on a dangerous journey to Kandahar in order to find her sister, who has been left behind in the war-torn country. Nafas is determined to bring her sister back home, despite the fact that she is in danger of being killed by the Taliban. Along the way, she encounters a variety of people, including a young girl who isalso trying to make her way to Kandahar in search of her family. Together, Nafas and the girl travel through the war-torn country, encountering numerous obstacles along the way. The film ultimately follows the two women as they reach Kandahar and Nafas is reunited with her sister.
