Synopsis/Plot
Kajillionaire is a 2020 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Miranda July. The film follows Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood), a 26-year-old woman who has been raised by two con-artists, Robert (Richard Jenkins) and Theresa Dyne (Debra Winger). Old Dolio has grown up believing that her parents are teaching her the art of the con, but she soon discovers that their schemes are petty and low-stakes. When a new opportunity presents itself, Old Dolio must decide whether to stay with her parents or strike out on her own.
Kajillionaire is a unique and quirky film that follows the Dyne family as they navigate their way through a series of cons and scams. The film focuses on Old Dolio’s journey as she questions her parents’ motives and her own place in the world. She discovers that her parents have been using her as a pawn in their schemes and she must decide whether to stay with them or venture out on her own. The film is a quirky and humorous exploration of family dynamics and the importance of making your own decisions. Kajillionaire is an offbeat and inventive look at the world of con-artists
