JustAnswer is a platform that benefits not just its users but also its experts. In this our JustAnswer review, we’ve broken down into bits what it involves to freelance on it as a professional expert.

You can skip this if you plan on just using the platform to get solutions; however, we’ll advise you to spend some time here to know what goes on in the back-end.

Getting accepted into the JustAnswer platform as a professional expert involves a lot.

Although it is simplified into three parts, namely Apply Online, Background Check, and Earning, you’ll be facing a more extended process; these processes aren’t difficult in entirety, long as one can show enough expertise proves, they would be admitted into the platform.

Experts won’t be required to pay any fee; in fact, they’ll be getting paid off of JustAnswers, but this depends on your client’s review.

Professionals would first apply through a form that would get their name, email, phone number, and professional category.

During the background check, professionals would need to submit the following.

1. An appropriately crafted CV or Resume in a PDF or DOC format.
2. A recent photo of themselves.
3. Their Drivers license, ID, or passport
4. A professional license (it must include the license type, number, country, contact information, and details on the licensing authority)
5. Social security number (in most cases).
6. Information providing details of experience, including its level, employer’s phone number, name, and current employer’s company name.

Most documents here are optional, but the more, the better. They verify all of this with a secure real-time third-party verification firm that goes through these credentials. 

It could take between 10 – 15 minutes for verification to complete; when done, you can browse questions in your category and start earning. Note, experts can apply for various categories long as they have the needed documents to prove their skills.

Like so many other freelancing platforms, experts can work whenever and wherever they like. No video software or mobile device is needed unless it is essential in your line of work. You aren’t required to set a schedule, minimum working hours, or any other discomforting requirements.

How much much do you get paid on JustAnswer (experts)

The subscription varies for the subscriber; it also varies based on the category they seek solutions from. While most clients pay based on questions or categories, others pay via a monthly subscription.

However, experts get to see the amount the client is bidding for the question; they can then go ahead to answer.

Besides earning from answering questions, JustAnswer has a referral-based system for experts. If you have fellow professionals that fit any field on the platform, you can refer them to JustAnswer through this form. They’ll email them on your behalf.

The category also plays a role in how much you earn from them; it could be between $20 – $100. Also, if the platform badly needs professionals in the said category, you could make more.

As of the time of writing this article, categories like heavy and industrial equipment, farm equipment, UK cars, and autism feature pretty high bonuses.

How does JustAnswer work?

Step 1: When a user visits JustAnswer.com, they are presented with a dialogue box in which they are to type in their question.

Step 2: When they click Start now, they are directed to the payment gateway page where they are asked to input their credit card details or pay with PayPal. The cost on this page varies; it could be from $0.10 – $5. Categories also matter.

Step 3: After making payments, they are prompted to create an account and then redirected back to the question page or submit their phone number to get notified when paired with an expert.

Step 4: Next, they’ll be asked to state how urgent their question is and give more in-depth details. The more the urgency, the more its cost. They can upload photos and documents too.

Step 5: The question is then taken to the question’s category pool for experts to see.

The experts in the said category are then notified. Whoever gets in first will be the one to answer the question.

Step 6: After the expert answers, the user gets notified via email that an answer has been left on their question.

Step 7: The askers have options to choose from

• They can accept the answer by using the Accept button; the expert would be paid on acceptance.
• They can ask a follow-up question. They won’t be charged for this and can ask up to 20 questions.
• They can reject the answers. When they do this, the expert who gave the answer doesn’t get paid, while the asker’s account would show they didn’t pay for one answer. Here, JustAnswer refunds their money. 

Step 8: Both the asker and the expert can leave a review for each other. The asker can also tip the expert.

You can skip the one-week discount and go for the $74/month plan. Here you can ask unlimited questions. The week-long trial allows you to ask unlimited questions too. After the first week, you’ll start being billed monthly, but they won’t bill you without confirming with you.

How to cancel JustAnswer

JustAnswer membership cancel is relatively easy. After the week-long free trial, it is best you cancel your free membership before the monthly charges kick in. Follow the steps below to cancel your membership.

3. You can’t breakdown how JustAnswer charges you. No doubt the fees are way affordable compared to meeting your doctor in person; however, you can’t explain why fees vary by categories and why they do.
4. They’ve emphasized that their experts are civil, empathic, etc. Nevertheless, you can’t get the same quality of response from all experts you meet.
