Synopsis – What to Expect from “Jeff, Who Lives at Home”
Jeff, Who Lives at Home is a 2011 American comedy-drama film directed by Jay and Mark Duplass. The story follows Jeff, a 30-year-old slacker, who lives in his mother’s basement and is content to sit around all day smoking pot and playing video games. His mother, Sharon, is frustrated with her son’s lack of ambition and is desperate for him to get a job and move out.
One day, Jeff’s brother, Pat, comes to the house and tells Jeff that he needs his help for a mission. Pat is trying to track down his wife’s suspected lover, and he needs Jeff’s help to follow him. Jeff agrees to help, and the two set off on a wild adventure through the city.
Along the way, Jeff and Pat encounter a variety of characters, including a mysterious guru who gives Jeff advice on life. They also run into a group of girls who invite Jeff to a party, and Jeff learns some important lessons about life and love.
Eventually, Jeff and Pat reach their destination and discover that Pat’s wife was not having an affair. Instead, she was planning a surprise birthday party for Pat. Jeff and Pat reconcile and Jeff realizes that he needs to take more responsibility for his life and find a job.
At the end of the movie, Jeff has a new outlook on life and is ready to take on the world. He moves out of his mother’s basement and starts a job
