Synopsis/Plot
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is an action-packed thriller about a young CIA analyst, Jack Ryan, who is thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. He uncovers a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack. As he races to save his country from economic disaster, he also discovers a personal connection to the plan that could alter his life forever.
The movie stars Chris Pine as Jack Ryan, with Kevin Costner playing his mentor and mentor-in-law, William Harper. Keira Knightley plays Jack’s fiancée, Cathy Muller, and Kenneth Branagh plays the villain, Viktor Cherevin.
The movie begins with Jack, a former Marine, working as a financial analyst. He is recruited by Harper to join the CIA and investigate suspicious financial transactions. Jack soon discovers that the transactions are linked to a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack. As he delves deeper into the investigation, he discovers that his fiancée, Cathy, is connected to the plot. He must now choose between his duty to his country and his loyalty to Cathy.
