Synopsis – What to Expect from “Jack and the Beanstalk”
Jack and the Beanstalk is a 2009 fantasy-adventure film directed by Gary J. Tunnicliffe. The movie follows Jack, a young farm boy living in a small village with his mother. When their fortunes take a turn for the worse, Jack’s mother sends him to the market to sell their beloved cow. On his way, Jack meets a mysterious old man who gives him a handful of magic beans in exchange for the cow.
Jack takes the beans home and plants them in the garden, only to find a gigantic beanstalk growing up into the clouds the next morning. Jack climbs the beanstalk and finds himself in a magical kingdom in the clouds. He discovers a castle inhabited by a giant and his two-headed pet, a dragon. After exploring the castle, Jack finds a golden harp and steals it, which enrages the giant.
The giant chases Jack down the beanstalk, but Jack escapes by cutting down the beanstalk with an axe. The giant falls to his death and Jack returns to his village with the golden harp. Jack uses the harp to save his village from poverty, and he and his mother live happily ever after.
