Synopsis/Plot
It Follows is a 2014 psychological horror film directed by David Robert Mitchell. The film follows 19-year-old Jay Height (Maika Monroe) as she is pursued by a supernatural entity after a sexual encounter.
The movie begins with Jay and her friends, Paul (Keir Gilchrist), Yara (Olivia Luccardi), and Greg (Daniel Zovatto), discussing their summer plans. Jay then goes on a date with Hugh (Jake Weary) and spends the night with him. The next day, Jay is horrified to discover that Hugh has passed on a supernatural entity to her. He explains that the entity will follow her and take the form of any person it chooses. If it reaches her, itwill kill her. Hugh warns her that the only way to get rid of the entity is to pass it on to someone else through a sexual encounter.
Jay is determined to get rid of the entity and enlists the help of her friends. As they search for a solution, the entity gets closer and closer, taking the form of various people in Jay’s life. Jay and her friends must find a way to stop the entity before it reaches her and kills her.
