Synopsis – What to Expect from “Iron Eagle II”
Iron Eagle II is a 1988 action drama directed by Sidney J. Furie and starring Louis Gossett Jr. and Mark Humphrey.
The film follows the story of Doug Masters (Mark Humphrey), a young American fighter pilot who is framed for the murder of a high ranking military official. When Doug is arrested, his father, retired Air Force Colonel Ted Masters (Louis Gossett Jr.), is determined to prove his son’s innocence and clear his name.
With the help of his friend, Colonel Wilcox (Tim Thomerson), Ted is able to arrange for Doug to escape from prison and join him on a mission to clear his name. With the help of a ragtag group of fellow pilots, the two set out to locate the real killer and prove Doug’s innocence.
The group soon discovers that the real killer is a rogue Soviet pilot, Colonel Zastava (Timothy Carhart), who is attempting to start a war between the United States and the Soviet Union. With the help of their newfound allies, the group sets out to stop Zastava and prevent a global conflict.
The film is filled with thrilling air combat sequences, as Doug and his group battle Zastava and his forces in the air. In the end, Doug and his team are able to bring down Zastava and prove his innocence, restoring the peace and saving the world from a devastating war.
