Video posts are getting more traction on social media. It has far better reach and acceptance with respect to other formats. According to a study people are most likely to remember a video advertisement rather than a blog or text ad.

In order to diversify your social media content with a positive emphasis on video posts or ads, you have to resort to decent video editing software it could be online or offline.

Most video editing software has a steep learning curve but for creating your social media campaign I don’t think you require all that firepower.

All you need is basic video editing software that you can use to create video posts swiftly by utilizing your blog or article content.

In this InVideo review, we would tell you how you can use its features to the fullest and create captivating social media posts in a matter of minutes.

Invideo Review: Conclusion
Pro Tips

Is InVideo worth it?

InVideo is a video editing application for social media content creators. The primary motive of this application is to simplify the video editing process.

It has basic video editing features that enable any user to create attractive video posts that can be shared on different social media platforms.

If you are looking for professional video editing software or a graphic editor for creating advanced animations then InVideo is not the software for you.

You cannot make edits on a frame-by-frame basis or at a pixel level. No advanced layering or masking templates can be used here.

As the video editing workflow is very simple and straightforward you do not require any fancy hardware to use InVideo.

InVideo is predominantly a web-based application that allows you to edit and create videos straight from your web browser.

In order to start creating a video using InVideo, you need to select a stock video template, add custom texts, add voice-over to it, superimpose a custom title track, and finally export it to a social media platform of your choice.

Savvy right?

Now let’s hear about where you can put InVIdeo to the best use.

How other users are using InVideo?

InVideo’s popularity lies in its simplicity. To create a custom video post you need to select the right aspect ratio, choose from over 4000 different video templates, add text and publish.

That’s about it.

Once you get used to its workflow and the user interface you would be able to churn out original videos in a matter of minutes.

Just keep your vision in mind and come up with the right textual information. I have listed down a few areas where InVideos’s online video editor can be put to good use.

1. Infographics

Making infographics with InVideo is really easy.

To get started just search about the topic on which you would be publishing the infographic on the InVideo homepage.

Depending on the topic InVideo would provide you a handful of template suggestions.

Infographics by InVideo

Select the template that best suits your needs and start editing the content in it. You can edit the templates at a granular level and add content to them.

Once you have completed editing your infographic you can preview it and start publishing it on the platform of your choice.

2. Facebook ads

The primary aim of every Facebook ad is to convert traffic into a successful purchase. The ad’s success is decided by the marketing strategy as well as the convincing power of the sales pitch.

Using InVideo, you get to use the tried and tested templates for creating stunning Facebook ads. You can edit the stock template and add your product images and video clips to make it stand out from the rest.

3. Invitation maker

With InVideo creating invitations is fun. While penning this review InVideo gave me over 140 template suggestions for creating a custom invitation.

These invitation templates look stunning and really well thought of. If you want your invitations to be the talk of the town and want to steer away from the bland transitions that reek of PowerPoint then this is the right path to follow.

InVideo Invitation maker

4. Making Tutorial Videos

While creating tutorials for e-learning websites like Udemy tutors who don’t have much video editing exposure might have to invest a lot of time in video editing.

So much so that video editing might take even more time than creating the tutorial itself.

Sophisticated video editing applications come with utilities and tools that might seem extremely complicated to a regular user.

For creating tutorials you do not require such intricate video editing capability.

All you need is to showcase your presentations, hands-on workflows and stitch everything together neatly by providing relevant captions. InVideo is perfect for such tasks.

5. Meme generator

Never underestimate the power of memes. If you still don’t believe me check out 9gag which is currently worth more than half a billion dollars.

Memes can get you a lot of traction in the social media ecosystem. They have quite high click-through rates and it can be extremely beneficial for individuals starting their own social media presence.

If you want to create memes using InVideo you don’t even require any template and can use your own stock video and add captions and styling as you please.

6. Travelogue or promos

You can use InVideo to create a travelogue of your latest trip. Use all the video clips that you have captured during your trip, mention all the noteworthy places to visit, the delicious food items you can try, and add captions describing the minute details.

And voila, your travelogue is ready. The same approach can be used for creating promotions for a brand a restaurant or even a product.

We have talked enough about InVideo’s utilities now let’s find out how you can create your promotional video from scratch.

InVideo Walkthrough

InVideo is a web application. This means you just need a stable internet connection and a web browser to edit your videos.

Signup/ Login

First, you need to sign up on the InVideo website and create your account.

On the signup page, you need to enter your full name, email address, set a password, and enter your mobile number. You will receive an OTP on the provided mobile number and enter it during signup.

That’s about it.

InVideo account creation page

Once you have created your account and logged in you would be taken to the InVideo dashboard.

On the dashboard, you can see all your plan-related details, your recent purchases, and all the projects that you have created using InVideo.

InVideo dashboard

Setup Profile

After assigning up the next important step is setting up your profile. This is a one-time configuration that you need not change every time you create a new project.

To set up your profile just click on the profile link and you would be navigated to the personal information page.

InVideo Profile Setup

At the bottom of this page, you can configure your social media profiles which can be integrated with your videos and visible to your users.

The next step is configuring your brand presets.

In this section, you would be uploading your brand logo, setting the text color, and decide how your brand logo should appear on your video edits.

And that’s it.

Now you can start editing your videos.

InVideo brand presets configuration

Creating your first video

InVideo provides you with three different ways to create or edit your videos.

You can either

  • Choose from  pre-made templates
  • Use text to video
  • Start from scratch using a blank canvas.

We will walk you through each of them one at a time.

i. Using pre-made template

When you are creating videos using a premade template you can go to InVideo’s dashboard and search for a template that you want to use.

For the sake of this InVideo review, I wanted to create a video on my latest road trip.

I searched for all available templates about road trips and got the following recommendations.

pre-made template recommendation in invideo

Now I have to select the aspect ratio in which I want my final video to render. The social media platform decides which aspect ratio would suit you the best.

Now just click on the template and start editing it as you please.

After selecting the template you will be navigated to the online video editor. Here you can rename your project, save it, download a local copy, and share it on different platforms.

On the bottom section of the video editor, you can find all the scenes present in the template.

You can edit or replace every element present in these scenes.

InVideo online video editor interface

As you can notice my brand preset logo is visible on each frame and all I need to do is edit the captions and the background image.

InVideo gives you a lot of editing options like adding a specific filter, blurring a certain portion of the image, and even choosing a canvas color that resonates with your brand styling.

various editing options InVideo

To start editing each slide in InVideo click on the slide and open the scene timeline.

The scene timeline contains all images, masks, audio, voice-over, and videos present in that single scene.

open scene timeline in Invideo

Under the scene timeline, you can click on each of these entities and edit them one by one.

Let me start by editing the captions in each scene.

edit captions of each scene in invideo

To edit the caption, select scene and on the preview window, you can select the text that you want to replace and update it.

InVideo Music Setting

Now I want to edit the backing track.

To edit the backing track click on the music icon on the left side of the screen.

You would get a lot of background score suggestions.

You can either select an audio clip from the InVideo library or upload your own backing track.

Once you have singled in on your backing track you can either replace it completely or add the track before or after the template’s audio.

Upload media in InVideo

The next step would be replacing the template’s default images with one of my original pictures.

To do so I had to select the image from the scene timeline and then click on the image icon on the left side of the screen.

As I would be uploading my original image I clicked on the upload button and selected the picture.

Option for replace an existing image in InVideo

Once I uploaded my picture, the application prompted me whether I would like to replace an existing image or add it as a layer on the template.

Invideo Video Clip Editing Options

Lastly, let me show you how to edit video clips.

Once you select a video clip from the scene timeline, above the preview screen you can see different video editing options.

InVideo allows you to do basic video editing like trimming cropping adjusting speed and adding blur to your video clips.

Add Video in InVideo

If the template’s default video is not making the cut you can upload your own video clip or select from available videos from the InVideo library.

To update a video clip click on the video icon on the left side of the screen and select the video that suits you.

InVideo Trimming Option

Once you have selected the video an intermediary screen would pop up that would prompt you whether you want to use the full video for a part of it.

On this screen, you can trim your video, adjust the playback speed, or even use the full clip as it is.

InVideo Voice Over Option

That’s not all apart from editing all the elements of the scene you can patch a voice-over to your whole video.

Voice-over sounds absolutely regal when you are creating a brand promotional video. To add a voice-over clip click on the voice-over icon.

Here you would get a lot of options for adding your custom voice-over clip. You can either use InVideos text to speech converter to add voice-over or record your own.

InVideo also allows you to upload a voice-over file. This option would come in handy when you are getting your voice-over recorder by an artist.

Automated text to speech in InVideo

While the other voice-over options are straightforward, you would get a lot of options when you opt to automate text to speech.

When you select the text to speech option, you can type in the text that you want to read aloud. Then depending on the region, you can select the language that suits your content or brand.

I was surprised to see many language options and different voices available to choose from.

Once you have selected your preference, click on generate VO and preview the voice-over clip. When you are satisfied with the result, you can add the voice-over to the scene.

transitions in InVideo

At this point, the only modification a user can ask for is to tweak the video transitions.

To edit the default transitions click on the transition icon present between each scene.

Once you select any transition the preview section would show you a list of all available transitions. Just preview a few transitions and select the one that appeals to you.

ii. Text to Video

Apart from completely relying on templates to create video content, you can also type out your text and InVideo would stitch your texts together neatly with transitions, background score, and right multimedia content.

Here’s how to use the text to video feature.

First, from the home screen select the “Text to video” option and select the desired aspect ratio. Then you can select from over 50 “text to video” templates.

Text to Video in InVideo

For this InVideo tutorial, I opted for the CyberSpace template.

Once you select the template, you can find 3 different ways to transform your text into video. You can either

  • Write the script – Under this option, you write the whole textual content, and InVideo would automatically convert your texts into captions and add audio and media files to it.
  • Add URL – When you add a blog’s URL, InVideo would crawl through the site and pick up all texts and use it for creating your videos.
  • Adding media files – Under this option, you have to add your media files and add a caption to them individually and the application would convert it into a video.
Text Adding option in InVideo

I opted for the first option and entered all the text that I wanted to be converted into a video.

I gave a heading and a few lines as details.

I also turned the image and video suggestions on. You can add as many lines as you want and also chain together multiple scenes for in-depth videos.

Auto-Suggest Image-Video InVideo

When you proceed ahead you would notice that the application picks up prominent keywords and gets you the relevant images and media from the internet.

This way you need not search for media to be added to your videos.

Get relevant images and media from the internet in InVideo

You can play the video and check how the images and the captions line up.

Honestly speaking the “text to video” was much easier and straightforward than choosing templates.

The final video looked professional and something that you can upload to your social media platforms without hesitation.

Preview option in InVideo

If you have a lot of scripts to be converted into a video you can keep a tab of each scene by clicking on the script icon on the left side of the screen.

When you click on the preview window of each scene you can find an edit button.

When you click it you get to edit your scenes and all elements present in them.

scene timeline of text to video in InVideo

This is how your scene timeline would look when you opt to edit your “text to video” project.

You can use this option when you want to change the backing track, add a voice-over, or add layers or cool stickers to your scene.

iii. Blank Canvas

Blank Canvas Option in InVideo

While using blank canvas you do not get options to choose a template or provide text to be converted to video. I feel blank canvas should be used while creating single scene content for example, memes.

Add Media in Blank Canvas in InVideo

After selecting the blank canvas you can add media of your choice from the InVideo library or upload a custom video of your own.

Then you can add a caption, animate it and spice it up with a trendy backing track.

And that’s it your meme is ready.

Download and Share

Once you have completed editing your videos using any of the above methods you can export and download them on your local machine or share it on any social media platform of your choice.

To do so go to the project that you want to export and click on the “Download and share button”.

Export Option in InVideo

Just click on export, wait for a few minutes for InVideo to convert your video, then you can download your video content on your local machine or share it on different social media platforms.

You need not even wait for the conversion to complete, InVideo would send you a mail on your registered email ID to prompt you once the conversion is completed.
