Synopsis/Plot
Injustice is a 2021 crime drama film directed by John Michael McDonagh and starring Jamie Foxx, John Boyega, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The film follows an idealistic defense attorney (Foxx) who is determined to prove the innocence of a young man (Boyega) wrongfully accused of murder.
The film opens with attorney Jake Roenick (Foxx) being approached by the family of a young man named Marcus Young (Boyega), who has been wrongfully accused of a murder he didn’t commit. Roenick takes on the case and quickly discovers that Marcus is the victim of a broken justice system. He soon finds himself up against the powerful District Attorney (Mbatha-RawRoenick discovers that Marcus’ case is part of a larger pattern of injustice, in which the powerful District Attorney is using her position to manipulate the justice system in order to secure convictions and advance her own career. With the help of his team of investigators, Roenick begins to uncover the truth and builds a case to prove Marcus’ innocence. As the trial progresses, Roenick and his team fight to reveal the truth and expose the corruption of the District Attorney. In the end, Roenick is able to prove Marcus’ innocence and bring justice to the people of the city.
