Synopsis/Plot
In the Electric Mist is a 2009 crime drama directed by Bertrand Tavernier and starring Tommy Lee Jones, John Goodman, and Peter Sarsgaard. The film follows Louisiana detective Dave Robicheaux (Jones) as he investigates a series of murders that have a connection to a film production in the area. Along the way, he encounters a number of colorful characters, including the mysterious Elrod Sykes (Goodman).
The film opens with Robicheaux on the hunt for a serial killer who has been targeting young women in the area. His investigation leads him to a movie set where he meets Elrod Sykes, a mysterious figure who claims to be a Hollywood producer. Robicheaux soon discovers that the movie set is connected to the serial killer and that Elrod is involved in a plot to use the film to cover up a series of murders.
Robicheaux is determined to get to the bottom of the case and bring the killer to justice. Along the way, he is aided by his partner, Helen Soileau (Kelly Macdonald), and a local priest, Father Jimmie Dolan (Sarsgaard). As the investigation progresses, Robicheaux is drawn into the mysterious world of Elrod Sy
