Synopsis/Plot
In a Valley of Violence is a 2016 American Western action thriller film directed by Ti West and written by West and his long-time collaborator, actor/producer/writer/director/editor Joe Swanberg. The film stars Ethan Hawke, John Travolta, Taissa Farmiga, James Ransone, and Karen Gillan.
The film follows the story of a mysterious drifter named Paul (Ethan Hawke) who arrives in the isolated town of Denton, a lawless settlement in the middle of a desolate valley. Paul is looking for revenge after his beloved dog is killed by a group of sadistic locals led by the psychopathic Gilly (John Travolta). He quickly finds himself in a fight for his life as the locals hunt him down.
Meanwhile, the town is also being terrorized by the ruthless outlaws of the notorious Tibbs gang, led by the ruthless and sadistic leader, Ellen (Taissa Farmiga). Paul teams up with the town’s marshal, Abbie (James Ransone), and the mysterious Mary-Anne (Karen Gillan) to take down Tibbs and his gang. As Paul and Abbie fight to restore justice
