Synopsis – What to Expect from “I.D.”
I.D. is a 1995 British crime drama film directed by Philip Davis and starring Reece Dinsdale, David Thewlis, and Prunella Scales.
The film follows four young men, John (Reece Dinsdale), Dave (David Thewlis), Tony (Richard Graham), and Chris (Christopher Fulford), who are unemployed and living in a small town in Northern England. They are bored and looking for something to do, so they decide to rob a bank. They plan the robbery carefully, but when they arrive at the bank they find out that the bank has been closed down.
The four men then decide to rob a local pub instead. They break in and take the money from the till, but while they are inside the pub, they are confronted by a police officer who had been sent to investigate the bank robbery. The officer arrests them and takes them to the police station.
At the police station, the four men are interrogated by a Detective Sergeant (Prunella Scales). She discovers that the four men had planned the bank robbery and were the ones who robbed the pub. She also discovers that the four men have been involved in other criminal activities in the past.
The Detective Sergeant charges the four men with robbery and they are sent to trial. At the trial, the four men plead guilty and are sentenced to prison. However, while in prison, they are able to develop a plan to escape
