Synopsis/Plot
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is an animated adventure film directed by Carlos Saldanha and released in 2009. The film is the third installment in the Ice Age franchise and follows the continuing adventures of the beloved characters of the first two films, Manny the Mammoth, Sid the Sloth, and Diego the Saber-toothed Tiger.
The film begins with Manny and Ellie, a mammoth couple, expecting their first child. Manny is overprotective and struggles to accept the fact that his child will grow up and leave him one day. Meanwhile, Sid adopts three dinosaur eggs that he found in an underground cave and nurtures them as if they were his own children. When the eggs hatch, Sid is delightedbut his joy is soon cut short when the dinosaurs’ mother, Momma, returns to reclaim her children. Manny, Sid, and Diego join Momma on an incredible journey to the underground world of the dinosaurs, where they must save Sid’s new family from a dangerous dinosaur named Rudy. Along the way, they encounter a variety of creatures, including a one-eyed weasel named Buck, and a group of comical mini-sloths. In the end, Manny and his friends must work together to save the day and return the dinosaurs to their home.
