Synopsis/Plot
I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 1997 horror film directed by Jim Gillespie and starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr.
The film follows a group of four high school friends—Julie, Helen, Barry, and Ray—who are celebrating the end of their senior year. After a night of partying, they decide to go for a drive. While out on the road, they accidentally hit and kill a pedestrian with their car. In a panic, they decide to dispose of the body and keep the incident a secret.
One year later, Julie, now a college student, receives an anonymous note that reads, “I know what you did last summer.” She soon realizes that someone knows the truth about the accident and is threatening to expose them.
The group must now find out who sent the letter and why they are being targeted. Along the way, they discover that the person behind the notes is a fisherman who witnessed the accident and is seeking revenge. The friends must now find a way to stop him before he can make good on his threats.
