Synopsis/Plot
I Am a Sex Addict is a 2005 comedy-drama film written and directed by Caveh Zahedi. The film tells the story of Caveh, a real-life filmmaker, who chronicles his struggles with sex addiction.
The film begins with Caveh’s childhood, where he is shown to be an awkward and shy boy who is fascinated with sex and pornography. As he grows older, his addiction to sex grows, and he begins to compulsively seek out prostitutes and engage in risky sexual behavior.
Through a series of interviews with his family and friends, as well as his own narration, we learn about Caveh’s addiction and how it has affected his relationships and his life. He recounts his attempts to find solace in religion, therapy, and even love, but he is unable to escape his addiction.
