Synopsis/Plot
Hummingbird is a 2013 British-Chinese action thriller film directed by Steven Knight and starring Jason Statham. Set in a post-apocalyptic London, the film follows an ex-Special Forces soldier (Statham) who is living life as a homeless man, struggling to survive in the city’s criminal underworld. After being attacked by a gang of thugs, he is taken in by a Chinese gangster who gives him a job as a “cleaner” – a hired gun for hire who will take out anyone or anything that gets in the gang’s way.
The film follows Statham’s character as he navigates the dangerous criminal underworld of London, taking out enemies and getting revenge for those who have wronged him. Alongthe way, he discovers a mysterious Chinese woman (Bingbing Li) who may hold the key to his past and a way out of the city. With the help of his new allies, he embarks on a mission to take down the city’s most powerful crime lord and bring peace to the streets of London. As he gets closer to his goal, he discovers a secret that could change the balance of power in the city forever.
