Synopsis/Plot
Hugo is an adventure-filled 3D family drama directed by Martin Scorsese. Set in 1930s Paris, the film follows the story of an orphaned boy named Hugo Cabret. After the death of his father, Hugo is taken in by his uncle, who works as a clockmaker in a train station. When his uncle disappears, Hugo is left alone and must survive on his own. In order to stay out of trouble, Hugo takes up residence behind the walls of the train station and begins to fix the clocks.
Hugo soon discovers a mysterious automaton that his father had been working on before his death. Hugo is determined to find out the automaton’s secret and embarks on an incredible journey of discovery. Along the way, he meets a variety of characters, including a kind toy shop owner, a beautiful young girl, and a mysterious old man. Through his adventures, Hugo discovers the truth about his father’s past and unlocks the secrets of the automaton.
