Synopsis – What to Expect from “How to Steal a Million”
How to Steal a Million is a 1966 romantic comedy directed by William Wyler and starring Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole.
The movie follows the story of Nicole Bonnet (Audrey Hepburn), a young woman from a wealthy French family. Her father, Charles Bonnet (Hugh Griffith), is a renowned art collector and his latest acquisition is a fake sculpture. He is unaware that the sculpture is a forgery, and when the museum where it is displayed finds out, they want to press charges.
In order to protect her father from scandal and financial ruin, Nicole devises a plan to steal the sculpture from the museum and replace it with a replica. She enlists the help of Simon Dermott (Peter O’Toole), an art thief who has a reputation for being a master of disguise.
The two embark on a daring mission to steal the sculpture from the museum and replace it with a replica. Along the way, they encounter a series of obstacles and find themselves in a number of dangerous situations. As they work together to complete their mission, they also find themselves falling in love.
In the end, the plan works and Nicole and Simon manage to replace the sculpture with a replica. However, when Charles discovers the truth about the sculpture, he is furious and disowns Nicole. In the end, Nicole and Simon are reunited and her father eventually forgives her.
