Synopsis – What to Expect from “How to Be a Player”
How to Be a Player is a 1997 American romantic comedy film directed by Lionel C. Martin and starring Bill Bellamy, Natalie Desselle-Reid, and Lark Voorhies.
The film follows the story of Dray, a smooth-talking ladies’ man who meets his match when he falls for the beautiful Lisa. Dray is a serial dater, with a long list of conquests that he keeps in a little black book. He is always looking for the next woman to add to his list, but he never expects to find someone like Lisa. Dray and Lisa have an instant connection and soon fall in love.
Meanwhile, Dray’s best friend, Bernie, is having a hard time with his relationship with his girlfriend, Angie. Angie is fed up with Bernie’s constant womanizing and decides to break up with him. Bernie is devastated and turns to Dray for advice. Dray tells him that the only way to win Angie back is to be honest and open up to her.
Bernie takes Dray’s advice and is able to win Angie back. Meanwhile, Dray and Lisa’s relationship continues to grow, and they eventually decide to move in together. However, Dray’s past catches up with him when one of his former conquests shows up on their doorstep.
