Synopsis/Plot
Hobo with a Shotgun is a 2011 Canadian black comedy-action film directed by Jason Eisener and starring Rutger Hauer. The film follows a homeless drifter, known only as “the Hobo” (Hauer), who arrives in a small town and finds himself caught in the middle of a violent struggle between a corrupt police force and a vicious street gang.
When the Hobo witnesses the brutality of the gang’s leader, Drake (Brian Downey), he decides to take a stand and purchases a shotgun from a pawn shop. With his newfound weapon, the Hobo sets out to clean up the town and rid it of its criminal element. Along the way, he meets an unlikely ally in Abby (Molly Dunsworth), a prostitute with a heart of gold. Together, the two of them battle their way through the town’s seedy underworld, taking on the gang, the police, and anyone else who stands in their way.
