Synopsis – What to Expect from “Hitting the Apex”
Hitting the Apex is a 2015 documentary film that follows the extraordinary lives of six of the world’s fastest motorcycle racers. Directed by Mark Neale, the film chronicles the careers of Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa, Andrea Dovizioso, and Casey Stoner as they compete in the ultra-competitive MotoGP World Championship.
The film begins by introducing the audience to each of the six riders and their respective backgrounds. We learn about their early days of racing, their successes and failures, and the intense rivalries that have developed between them. We then follow the riders as they compete in the MotoGP World Championship, starting with the first race of the season in Qatar and ending with the final race in Valencia, Spain.
Along the way, we witness some of the most breathtaking moments in Grand Prix racing, from Rossi’s miraculous comeback at the Dutch TT to Marquez’s incredible last-lap pass at the British Grand Prix.
