Synopsis – What to Expect from “Highlander II: The Quickening”
Highlander II: The Quickening is a 1991 action-adventure fantasy film directed by Russell Mulcahy and starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Virginia Madsen. The film is a sequel to the 1986 film Highlander.
The film begins with a narration by Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) who is now an immortal who has been living on Earth for centuries. He is now living in a post-apocalyptic world that has been destroyed by a man-made ozone layer that has blocked the sun’s rays from reaching the planet. In order to save the planet, Connor must find a way to restore the ozone layer.
Meanwhile, an evil immortal from the past, General Katana (Michael Ironside), has reawakened and is determined to take over the world. He has an army of immortals and a powerful weapon called the Quickening, which can be used to take away the power of any immortal.
In order to stop Katana, Connor must team up with his old friend Ramirez (Sean Connery) and an environmental scientist, Louise Marcus (Virginia Madsen). Together, they travel to the planet Zeist, where the Quickening is located. On Zeist, they must battle Katana’s forces and find a way to restore the ozone layer.
The film culminates in an epic battle between Connor and Katana, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. In the end,
