Synopsis/Plot
High School Musical 2 is a 2007 American musical television film written by Peter Barsocchini and directed by Kenny Ortega. It is the second installment in the High School Musical trilogy. The movie follows the East High Wildcats as they go on summer vacation.
The movie begins with Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez attending their first day at Lava Springs Country Club, where Troy has been hired as a lifeguard and Gabriella as a guest-relations specialist. Troy is also the club’s newest employee. Sharpay Evans, the club’s spoiled and wealthy owner, is not pleased with Troy’s hiring and attempts to sabotage his job. Meanwhile, Troy’s best friend Chad Danforth and Taylor McKessie discover that Sharpay has been using the club’s employees to run her own personal errands.
At the same time, Troy and Gabriella are also trying to make their relationship work during the summer. They both decide to audition for the club’s musical, “Summer Nights”, which Sharpay is also in. Troy and Gabriella make it into the show, but Sharpay is determined to make sure they don’t have a chance to shine.
