Synopsis – What to Expect from “Hick”
Hick is a 2011 drama film directed by Derick Martini and starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Eddie Redmayne, Blake Lively, Alec Baldwin, and Juliette Lewis.
The story follows 13-year-old Luli (Moretz) who is growing up in a small town in Nebraska. Despite her young age, she is already facing a difficult life, with her alcoholic father and her mother who is often absent. Feeling neglected and with no one to turn to, she decides to take matters into her own hands and run away from home.
On her journey, she meets Eddie (Redmayne) who is a charming drifter who takes her under his wing. He introduces her to the world of drugs, alcohol, and gambling, and she quickly falls into a life of crime and debauchery. Luli soon learns that Eddie is not the knight in shining armor she thought he was, and she must find a way to survive and make her own way in the world.
