Synopsis/Plot

Hercules is a 1997 animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is based on the legendary Greek mythological hero of the same name and is loosely based on the legendary Greek mythological figure of Heracles. The film follows Hercules, the son of Zeus, as he journeys to become a true hero, with the help of his trainer Philoctetes and a comical satyr named Pegasus.

The film begins with the birth of Hercules, who is born to the Greek gods Zeus and Hera. His birth is celebrated by all of the gods, except for the evil Hades, the Lord of the Underworld. Hades plots to overthrow Zeus and take over Mount Olympus, but isstopped by Hercules’ mother, Hera. She sends Hercules to live on Earth with the humans, where he is raised by his adoptive parents, Amphitryon and Alcmene. Despite his human appearance, Hercules retains his god-like strength.

Hercules is trained by Philoctetes, a satyr, to become a hero, and with the help of Pegasus, a flying horse, they embark on a quest to save the world from Hades’ evil plans. Along the way, Hercules meets and falls in love with Megara, a beautiful and strong-willed woman who helps him on his journey. With the help of his friends, Hercules defeats Hades and his minions and saves the world from destruction. In the end, Hercules is welcomed back to Mount Olympus and is made a true hero.
