Synopsis – What to Expect from “Hellzapoppin'”
Hellzapoppin’ is a 1941 classic musical comedy starring Ole Olsen and Chic Johnson as two struggling vaudeville performers, Ole and Chic. The two are desperate for a break, and when they hear about a talent show in New York City, they decide to give it a shot.
The talent show is sponsored by a wealthy socialite, Mrs. Van Hoskins, who is looking for the perfect act to entertain her guests. To their surprise, Ole and Chic are selected as the winners and are invited to perform at Mrs. Van Hoskins’ mansion.
At the mansion, Ole and Chic are met with a wild crowd, and the two put on an amazing show. The audience loves their performance, and the two become an overnight success. However, their success is short-lived as Mrs. Van Hoskins’ husband, Mr. Van Hoskins, has other plans. He is determined to put a stop to Ole and Chic’s act, and he sets out to sabotage their show.
Mr. Van Hoskins does everything he can to ruin the show, but Ole and Chic are determined to make it a success. With the help of their friends, they manage to put on a spectacular show that leaves the audience in awe. In the end, Ole and Chic’s show is a huge success, and they become the toast of the town.
