Synopsis – What to Expect from “Heist”
Heist is a 2001 American crime thriller film directed by David Mamet and starring Gene Hackman, Danny DeVito, and Delroy Lindo.
The movie follows the story of Joe Moore (Gene Hackman), an aging master thief who has been planning the perfect heist for years. He finally finds the perfect target: a diamond courier carrying a fortune in uncut diamonds.
Joe assembles a team of criminals, including Bobby Blane (Danny DeVito), a master locksmith, and Pinky Pincus (Delroy Lindo), a veteran safecracker. They plan the perfect heist, but their plans are complicated by the presence of a mysterious figure, a former associate of Joe’s named Bergman (Sam Rockwell).
The team successfully pulls off the heist, but their celebration is short-lived as Bergman reveals that he has been working with the FBI and has been monitoring them the entire time. Joe and his team must now face the consequences of their actions and fight to stay alive.
The movie follows Joe and his team as they attempt to outwit the FBI and escape with the diamonds. Along the way, they must also deal with their own personal issues and conflicts. In the end, the team must decide if they can trust each other and if they can trust Bergman, or if they will all end up in prison.
