Synopsis/Plot
Happy Death Day is a 2017 American slasher film directed by Christopher Landon and written by Scott Lobdell. The film stars Jessica Rothe as Tree Gelbman, a college student who is murdered on her birthday and begins reliving the day repeatedly in a time loop. The film also stars Israel Broussard, Ruby Modine, Charles Aitken, and Rachel Matthews.
Tree Gelbman is a college student who wakes up on her birthday in the dorm room of Carter Davis, a fellow student she met the previous night. After a wild night of partying, Tree goes about her day as usual, only to be murdered by a hooded assailant in a baby mask. She soon wakes up to find that it’s her birthday again and she is reliving the same day. Tree soon realizes that she must identify and stop her killer in order to break the time loop and survive.
Tree is aided in her search by Carter, her roommate Lori, and a professor named Gregory Butler. Through her investigations, Tree discovers that her killer is actually a fellow student named Ryan, who has been stalking her for some time. After a series of close calls, Tree eventually confronts Ryan and kills him in self-
