Synopsis/Plot
Happy Death Day 2U is a 2019 American science fiction slasher film directed by Christopher Landon and written by Landon and Scott Lobdell. It is a sequel to the 2017 film Happy Death Day and stars Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Phi Vu, Suraj Sharma, Sarah Yarkin, and Rachel Matthews. The film follows the same characters as the first film, with Tree Gelbman (Rothe) once again having to relive the same day over and over. This time, however, she must figure out how to break the time loop and save her friends from a new killer.
The film begins with Tree and her friends celebrating her birthday and the end of the first film. However, Tree soon finds herself stuck in a new time loop, this time with a new killer. With the help of her friends, Tree discovers that the new killer is a scientist from the future, who is using a time machine to erase Tree and her friends from existence. Tree must find a way to stop the scientist and save her friends before the time loop resets and she is killed again.
